I know, I know, I’m late again. I can’t help it, I guess I’m just a chronically late person. Well, not in terms of anything else but this, but whatever, I can pretend. For the 5th we’ve got Accidental Babies by Damien Rice, and the 6th brings us British Sea Power’s Oh Larsen B. Finally, for today I have been listening to this great band called …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. I really love the singer’s voice, and in general I enjoy the band. Check out Will You Smile Again? by them.

Listen to God Knows by Joe Henry (look, I’m on time!). It’s a slow, melancholy song, the kind of song I always imagine playing when there’s a scene in a movie with people walking to a funeral or something.

For the 2nd, listen to Starting to Show by Jill Barber, who I am going to see on Valentine’s Day and am extremely excited for. Then, for today check out The Blower’s Daughter by Damien Rice, which you’ve probably heard before, but I’m in the mood to mellow out today, so you get subjected to my whims.

For the 30th, check out Sex on Fire by the Kings of Leon, who are fantastic. Then for the 31st, listen to Baby I by Amy Millan, who is one of the lead singers of the lovely band Stars. Finally, for the first day of February we’ve got the iconic Portrait of Tracy by Jaco Pastorius, and if you are a bass player and have not heard this, shame on you!

For today, listen to Proof of Love by Old Man Luedecke, a cute song with some fantastic banjo playing!

I have an excuse this time: I’ve been super sick for the past few days (and still am) and so used every spare minute I could get to sleep in hopes that it would help heal my horrible disease (not really). But I’m here now, so I’ll catch you up on your musical recommendations. For the 25th, check out Homeless by MIR. On the 26th, go back in time and listen to Le Matin by Yann Tiersen, who composed and recorded the soundtrack to the lovely movie Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain, which hopefully you all know and love. On the 27th, you should listen to Radio Edit by Sweatshop Union, which hopefully/probably you’ve heard before, but it’s a good pump-up song. Finally, for today we’ve got Philosophy from Ben Folds, but make sure you listen to the version from the Ben Folds Live disc, it’s great. Now you’re up to date!

Yes, I’m a terrible person, to the power of four. But anyway, I know what you’re really looking for is your songs. For the 21st, we’ve got Devil by Beast. Beast is a terrific band, and one of their songs (it may have been this one) was a free single on the Canadian iTunes Store. The rest of the album is great, so I highly recommend you check it out. For the 22nd, listen to The Privateers by Andrew Bird, from his album released that day, Noble Beasts. The song for the 23rd is A 7th Minor by Jill Barber. Finally, bringing us up to the present, for today I recommend listening to Precious Metals by The Russian Futurists. Enjoy all your tunes!

Today I’ve been listening to lots and lots of Ben Kweller, one of the Bens in The Bens (along with Ben Folds and Ben Lee). One of my favourite songs (at least today) has been I Need You Back, so I suggest you give it a listen!

Listen to Navy Brown by Gentleman Reg, off a great album called Darby & Jean. I’ve been listening to it for the past couple hours (played it a few times in a row), and I really love it! Check it out.
